Is it possible to change the batteries?

No, the batteries can’t be exchanged as the design of the Logger doesn't allow this.Tthe complete LIBERO Cx has to be replaced.

How long does the battery last?

LIBERO CL / CH / CE

Depending on the Bluetooth® mode selected, there is a reduction in the service life due to increased energy consumption, according to the following table:
- BLE permanently OFF: 36 months
- BLE temporarily ON (by pressing "Start" button): 24 months
- BLE permanently ON: 14 months
Conditions: Measuring interval: 10 minutes, operating temperature range.

If the capacity of the battery has reached a minimum level, this is indicated by a warning symbol in the logger display. From this moment on, the logger should no longer be used and can therefore no longer be started. If the logger is in "Run" mode, a remaining period of use of approx. 8-10 days can be assumed.

LIBERO CS/CB/CI/CD
Under normal conditions of use, the battery of the single-use LIBEROs will last at least 30 days beyond its expiration date.
If the LIBERO is exposed to extreme temperatures or temperature fluctuations for a longer period of time, the battery may be used up sooner. A corresponding symbol then appears in the display. However, the LIBERO can usually still be read out by connecting it to a USB port of a computer.

How to set the LIBERO into configuration mode?

LIBERO CL/CH/CE
The LIBERO CL/CE/CH is in configuration mode when the display shows either ConF or nothing at all. To put the LIBERO back into configuration mode after use, it first need to be stopped. When StoP is shown on the display, it could be connected to the USB port and then ConF will appear on the display.

LIBERO CS/CB/CI/CD
The single-use LIBERO CS/CB/CI/CD cannot be reconfigured once they have been started. If you configure the LIBEROs yourself, you will receive them in configuration mode ("ConF" shown on the display). After configuration, the LIBEROs are ready to start ("Strt" on the display). In this state, the LIBEROs can be reconfigured by connecting them to a USB port. The display then changes back to "ConF".

How can the LIBERO Cx be configured?

The display of the logger need to be "OFF" or show "STOP". There are several ways to configure a LIBERO Cx:

(1) The liberoCONFIG software can be used to create individual configurations, to save them and apply them to the LIBERO. liberCONFIG can be downloaded here. Note there are two versions for LIBERO models Cx / Tx.
User instructions for configuration can be found in the LIBERO user manuals:

LIBERO Cx
LIBERO Cx BLE (Bluetooth)

(2) ELPRO can create a SmartStart configuration tool for you. In it, all configuration settings are packed together and the application of a configuration to the logger is done within seconds.

(3) ELPRO can supply you with the LIBEROs already pre-configured. Then the LIBEROs can be started and used directly.

Please contact your ELPRO Customer Success Team for options 2 and 3 or create a support ticket.

LIBERO Cx is not recognized by existing liberoCONFIG

Please check, which version of the liberoCONFIG software you use, only the latest version 2021.11.2.0 could be used with the new LIBERO Cx loggers.

Where to find my current software version?

Please open your liberoCONFIG, choose Application and About, there you find the current version.

Which liberoCONFIG version do I have to use for my LIBERO?

Currently, two liberoCONFIG versions are available for download on the website https://software.elpro.com. There, you will also find a description of which version is suitable for which LIBERO.

Which elproVIEWER version do I have to use for my LIBERO?

The latest elproVIEWER version is also backwards compatible with certain earlier LIBEROs. For older LIBEROs with early firmware versions, earlier versions of elproVIEWER may have to be used. In such a case, please contact your ELPRO's Customer Success Team or create a support ticket. The current version of elproVIEWER is available for download from this website: https://software.elpro.com/

After stopping the logger, will all data be deleted?

The logger should not be stopped if possible. if you have to stop it, please save your data as soon as you stop the logger.
As long as the logger is in stop mode the PDF can be generated as often as you like.
As soon as you press the start button the measuring cycle is set to zero and the data are irretrievably lost.

Therefore we recommend to save the original PDF report digitally.

How to get the original LIBERO PDF Report / how to get my data?

By connecting the LIBERO Cx to a USB port of a computer (except the LIBERO ITS and LIBERO Gx). Whenever a LIBERO is stopped (the display shows "StoP" or "Make PDF") a PDF report can be generated in this way. Once the LIBERO is connected, you can open its folder in Windows Explorer and copy the PDF file.
Attention: If you open the PDF file in a PDF program, it can not be saved with "Save" or "Save as", otherwise all embedded raw data will be lost. Use only the copy/paste function of Windows Explorer or move the PDF file with "Drag and Drop".

LIBERO CL / CE / CH also offer a Bluetooth® interface. With the corresponding ELPRO App for LIBERO Cx BLE, the PDF-report can also be read without connecting the LIBERO to a computer. However, Bluetooth communication has to be enabled when configuring the LIBERO. The App can be downloaded from Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

How could data be shown in the table and how to export to Excel?

Please first generate an original PDF report. Drag it to the desktop and open the elproVIEWER software to drag and drop the file into elproVIEWER.

The individual measuring points are visible under the Table grid. Select entire table, copy it to the clipboard open the Excel and paste the table there.

How can a new run be started, when the logger was stopped?

Please create a PDF - Make PDF
Depending on the logging mode (START/STOP or LOOP):

  • If the logger has been programmed in the ring buffer, press the START button again.
  • If the logger was configured in Start/Stop mode, it must be reconfigured to restart.

Can the device alarm to external? What are the alternatives?

No, the LIBERO Cx does not provide external and acoustic alarming, only data recording with alarm statistics. An alarm is indicated by "X" in the display.

The alternatives with external alarming are elproCLOUD or LIBERO Gx.

How can I reset the alarm without losing the data?

Please press STOP twice - 1. switches off alarm, 2. logger is stopped.

MAKE PDF -> depending on logging mode (START/STOP or LOOP)

  • START button
  • Reconfiguration

What do the error codes (Exxx) on the display mean?

In the event of device errors, an alarm indicator and the error code are displayed (Exxx). The error is usually also documented in the PDF report.
In such a case, please contact your ELPRO Customer Success contact person or create a support ticket.

Can I still read out the LIBERO if an error code appears on the display?

In most cases, the PDF of a LIBERO datalogger can also be read out, if an error code is shown on the display. If this is not possible, please contact your ELPRO Customer Success representative or create a support ticket.

The times on the PDF report do not match the real actual times.

If the times on the PDF report do not match the real times (and any time zone conversions have been taken into account), this may be due to an error in the internal clock. The accuracy of the LIBERO CB/CI/CS realtime clock is stated to be less than +/- 20 minutes per year. This is ensured by a quartz crystal which is constantly monitored electronically. In the unlikely event that the quartz fails, a more robust but less accurate internal oscillator ensures the clock functions.
If the display shows error E011, there is a failure of the internal realtime clock. However, all temperature measurements are correct logged.

The PDF report cannot be opened in elproVIEWER.

In this case, the report is not an original PDF report. This means that the PDF file was opened in a PDF-rework tool and saved again. This does delete all embedded data and neither elproVIEWER nor liberoMANAGER will be able to read the PDF. If you still have the relevant LIBERO, read the PDF again, do not save it, but copy it to a directory or to the desktop.

liberoMANAGER does not accept the submitted PDF report and sends a "Reject" message.

In this case, it is probably not an original PDF report. This means that the PDF file was opened in a PDF-rework tool and saved again. This will delete all embedded data and neither elproVIEWER nor liberoMANAGER will be able to read the PDF. If you still have the relevant LIBERO, read the PDF again, do not save it, but copy it to a directory or to the desktop.

The PDF cannot be opened and cannot be moved to the desktop.

It may be that general security settings or the settings of the virus protection program either cause a delay in the readout of the PDF file or completely block access to the USB port, respectively the PDF file. In this case, please contact your IT department with the advice that the LIBERO can be "whitelisted" for the security and virus protection settings.

How can the LIBERO Cx-BLE implement the functionality of the LIBERO Ti1/Ti1-L of repeated logging periods (Transit>Arrived) and preservation of all data?

For LIBERO Cx-BLE devices, the last logging period is inspected for compliance with alarm criteria by configuring "Inspection Range: Last "Alarming-ON" period only". Basically, re-start of the logger deletes data of the previous period, but this can be prevented by configuring the stop option "Stop disabled". This allows logging of repeated cycles by pressing the buttons on the front (Alarming-ON > Alarming-OFF), without loss of data.

How to clean the logger

We recommend to use a standard disinfectant and remain the plastic cap on the USB plug.

Daylight Saving Time / How does the logger change and how does it impact the PDF report / information

The basis for all time information in the PDF report are the “Time Zone” and “Daylight Saving Time” settings entered in the configuration under "Time Settings".

These configured settings are documented in the PDF report under "Report Time Base:" as a cumulative value from both adjustable parameters.

Example:
Central/Eastern Europe Time = UTC +01:00
Enabled Daylight Saving Time = +01:00
-> Report Time Base:  UTC +02:00

If the logger is started before and stopped after the time changeover, the PDF report is created with the time shift at STOP (always based on the actual at the time the report is created).

The logger only uses UTC internally as a unique time reference.
