Things to consider when choosing a
refrigerator or freezer monitoring solution

 

In order to find out which monitoring solution fits best into your temperature environment, there are a few fundamental questions you need to answer:

 

How do you want to receive alarm notifications?

A fridge/freezer temperature monitoring system is monitoring temperatures at all times and delivers an uninterrupted measurement chain with tamper-proof data in the system you can use for reporting. Do you want to be notified and receive alerts/alarm in case of a temperature excursion?

  1. Temperature monitoring is just for documentation purposes
  2. Who to contact in case of a deviation: Alarm notifications are mainly relevant during operating hours and should be visible/audible to the personnel nearby (horn/beeper, lamp)
  3. If materials stored in the fridge, freezer or incubator are critical, you'll want to receive remote alarm notifications 24/7 via email – also during nights, weekends and holidays when staff are away

How many measurement points do you need to monitor and where do you want to store your data?
